Mini-Yoda

This Mini-Yoda tutorial is based off of one found for free elsewhere on the web, but modified to be more specific and less confusing in parts. Feel free to change things that you want to and give your feedback!

What you will need:
Green, brown, and off white medium worsted yarn
Size 4.25 mm hook
9 mm safety eyes
Yarn Needle
Polyfil or some kind of stuffing

Head/Body:
With green yarn and size H hook,
Rnd 1: Magic circle with 8 stitches
Rnd 2: *2 sc in next stitch* 8 times (16)
Rnd 3: *sc, 2 sc in next* 8 times (24)
Rnd 4:sc around (24)
Rnd 5: *dec, sc* 8 times (16)
Rnd 6: sc around (16)
Rnd 7: repeat rnd 6
Rnd 8: *dec, sc, sc, sc* 3 times (12)
Rnd 9: dec around (6)
*Attach eyes and stuff head.

Switch to brown colour for the body by finishing the last stitch with brown.
Rnd 10:*sc in next stitch, 2 sc in next stitch* 6 times (9)
Rnd 11: *2 sc in next stitch* 8 times (18)
Rnd 12: *sc in next stitch, 2 sc in next* 9 times (27)
Rnd 13: sc around (27)
Rnd 14: *sc in each of the next two stitches, dec in next stitch* 6 times, then sc in each of the next three stitches (21)
Rnd 15: sc around (21)
Rnd 16: *sc in next stitch, dec* 7 times (14)
Rnd 17: sc around (14)
Rnd 18: Dec around (7); stuff the body
Rnd 19: Sc, dec 3 times, (4)
Rnd 20: Dec 2 times (2)
Rnd 21: Dec 2 times (closed); fasten off.

Ears (make 2) with green yarn and size H hook
1. ch 6
2. sc in 2nd ch from hook
3. hdc in next ch
4. dc in each of the next two ch's
5. tr in next ch
*Leave long tail and sew onto head

Feet (make 2) with green yarn using size G hook
1. ch 4, sl st in 1st ch to create a ring
2. 6 sc in middle of ring
3. ch 3, sc in 2nd ch from hook
4. sc in next ch
5. sl st in middle of ring
6. ch 4, sc in 2nd ch from hook
7. sc in next ch
8. sl st in middle of ring
9. ch 3, sc in 2nd ch from hook
10. sc in next ch
11. sl st in middle or ring
*Leave tail and sew feet onto bottom of body

Arms (make 2) starting with green and size G hook
Rnd 1: Magic circle 5 sc into ring
Rnd 2: *2 sc in each sc* 5 times (10)
Rnd 3: sc around (10)
Rnd 4: dec, sc in the next 3 sc, dec, sc in the next three sc (8)
*Switch colour to brown.
Rnd 5 – 7:*sc in next stitch* 8 times (8)
sl st in next stitch leaving tail to sew it on the body.
*Sew arms on the body without stuffing.

Jacket
Chain 30
Row 1: Starting in the third chain from the hook, hdc across, turn (27)
Row 2 – 5: hdc across (27)
Row 6: 8 hdc, 2 sl st, 6 hdc, 2 sl st, 9 hdc (27)
Row 7: 9 hdc, 2 ch, 6 hdc, 2 ch, 8 hdc (27)
Row 8: hdc across (27)
Row 9: sl st in first three hdc, hdc across leaving the last three stitches unworked (21) This begins the hood.
Row 10 – 20: hdc across, fasten off.

Fold the hood in half, sew the edges together, scrunching up or pleating as you go so the side edges are more rounded.

Belt
Chain 50, turn, single crochet in each chain, fasten off.

Assembly
Put Yoda's arms though the holes, secure the jacket with the belt.
